Our People

Graylyne Griffin
"My early idea of leadership was centered around people, but more from the perspective of leading from the front. I always viewed leadership through lens of completing a project or task. I thought leadership was working the hardest in the room and using my work ethic as a way of leading and modeling who I thought people would want to follow. I can look back and see where Alignment Leadership would’ve unlocked the gifts of those I was leading in a way that would have created opportunities for myself, and more importantly, those same leaders to experience true personal and professional fulfillment."

"Alignment Leadership has been able to help me understand the importance of delegating tasks efficiently as we continue to come together to work towards our shared purpose. Having lived out Alignment Leadership for the last few years has helped me understand the importance of being a leader. I believe one of my biggest strengths is the ability to not only use my intuition in each situation I am in, but to be open and honest while sharing information about tasks and results."

As a leader, my willingness to take risks and fail over and over again gives me permission to innovate. Finding creative ways to help others bring their unique purpose to life is a mission that resonates with me personally, professionally and spiritually. It’s the reason why I can do what I do best as someone who practices Alignment Leadership. I have always struggled with the self-imposed pressure of feeling like I needed to have all the answers for every problem. Alignment Leadership resets my thinking every day by helping me focus on how my specific gifts and passions play a part in achieving a common goal with others. I have the freedom to pursue my strengths while leaning on others where I am weak.

"My ideas of leadership always revolved around serving others. Although this fits well within Alignment Leadership, I’ve struggled with understanding that I have been put in this position because of who I am, not what I do. Alignment Leadership has shown me that others need to understand where, why, and how if I want them to follow me. I have to bring clarity to my purpose and theirs before I can serve them. Through Alignment Leadership, I’ve also learned that my strength in intaking information and translating that into potential solutions is all I need to be a great leader. "

"I used to think leadership was a trait some people were born with. Because they had the most charisma, they could naturally influence others. I’ve always been an ideas guy, so not only was I not born with that special leadership trait, but I also sometimes value my own ideas more than I value people. Alignment Leadership taught me to love and serve others by first responding to their needs in that moment, not mine. Alignment Leadership also showed me that my strength in seeking personal transformation through Jesus Christ can help me serve others on their own unique journeys."

Leadership is a loaded word for me. I lived a good portion of my adult life believing that God was calling me into leadership, but not feeling affirmed by my community. Instead, I was told and believed the lie that I couldn't be a leader because I was too young, inexperienced, didn't have the right personality, and because women don't have a place in leadership. I spent a lot of time trying to do all the right things in order to be taken seriously as a leader: I went and got a masters degree, I tried to tone down my crazy personality, and I sought after the positions with the best titles. I did all of these things trying to prove myself and my worth to others. However, the Alignment Leadership community affirmed this calling within me and helped me to see that I am a leader not in spite of who I am but because of who I am. They helped me to see that my passion for helping people discover their God-given worth and gifts is more than enough to qualify me for leadership.

"My early ideas of leadership were about control and accountability. Simply setting goals and reaching them was the only way I envisioned success. However, being so driven caused me to lose sight of emotions and personal fulfillment as part of the daily work experience. When I started to build relationships and invest in people, things changed for the better. Using my extensive experience in schools, Alignment Leadership taught me that I can use my strength in knowing how to read people and mediate difficult conversations. Alignment Leadership leverages my strengths as well as those relationships to benefit the whole organization."

"I’ve always believed that good leaders duplicate themselves, meaning they empower those around them to be leaders, too. Although I struggle in the early stages of team development when personal connections are especially limited in depth, I’ve come to understand that I can overcome this through intentionality in my actions, regardless of how long I’ve known someone. Alignment Leadership has taught me the value in taking that time to understand the passions and motivations of others. Through my strength in leaning into the human connection with those whom I lead, I can help develop effective, purpose-driven leaders under Alignment Leadership."

I am very service-oriented. I care about people and I like to be organized and keep track of everything going on. I think those are my greatest strengths, or super-powers as we like to call them. I have always aspired to be a leader because I wanted to be a better example of leadership than what I was seeing in the world. Alignment Leadership is showing me how leadership should be defined and portrayed, which gives me hope for the future. AL has taught me that allocating resources is key to finding alignment and fulfillment in the workplace. Allocating resources and establishing trust in myself, as well as my team, will always lead to a better outcome than if I try to accomplish things on my own. In this company, there is a purpose for me as well as every person on my team, and I utilize their strengths just like they utilize mine.
